The Karpagam Charity Trust was founded in the year 1989 with the sole aim of providing excellent educational facilities to the people and also catering to the needs of the poor and serving the society in general through charitable deeds. Dr.R.Vasanthakumar B.E. (Hons).,D.Sc., is the Chairman and Managing Trustee of Karpagam Group of Institutions.
The Karpagam Charity Trust runs the following Institutions.
Karpagam Polytechnic College started its educational service in the year 1998 with the sole aim of imparting Technical Education to the students in the latest theories and technologies and it is expected to blossom into an institution par excellence. It is situated 10 kms away from Coimbatore on the main highway along Coimbatore - Pollachi main road. The institution is approved by the Government of Tamilnadu and All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi.
The following three year full-time Diploma courses are being offered with the total annual intake of 720.

KARPAGAM POLYTECHNIC COLLEGE
Our Polytechnic college has been selected for the implementation of Canada –India Institutional Co-operation Project initiatives under phase XI replication process from the year 2009-2010 by the Directorate of Technical Education, Tamilnadu.

Our mission as an educational institution is to instill originality in the learning minds and impart strength and efficiency, by giving quality-value-based education, motivating skills and creativity with innovative selective knowledge , for the purpose of rendering unique products to serve and lead the society and bring perfection in entirety as our vision.
ABOUT THE SEMINAR
The main objective of this National Seminar is to create awareness among the students on the latest developments and technologies adopted in the areas of renewable energy and to emphasis the importance of preserving the environment, the impact of which results in the climatic changes and this also being a global level threat. It acts as a platform to tap the potential and innovations from the learning minds and to find appropriate solutions for the existing challenges in the area of Engineering if also helps the students to get sufficient information and knowledge in these thrust areas and thereby transmitting the ideas for the development of the community.
The symposium is an ideal technical forum to provide up-to-date research findings and ample exposure in the fields of Energy, Environment & Engineering. Based on the above themes, seminars are being org’
anized by our institution every year since 2001.Papers are invited in the related topics. Students from various polytechnic colleges will be participating in the seminar and presenting papers. Prizes and certificates will be issued to the participants.

GUIDELINES
Two copies of abstract of the paper not exceeding 300 words has to be sent for the selection and on selection of abstract, two copies of full paper not exceeding 3000 words written in a CD is to be sent. Text in MS word with Times New Roman style, font size 11 for the text and 12 (bold) for the title with double line spacing is to be followed. Abstracts selected will be intimated to the authors by e-mail / Phone. All accepted authors must register for the seminar. Selected papers will be published in the proceedings.
PARTICIPATION
Students of Polytechnic colleges from all over India are eligible to participate in the programme. Each institution can delegate any number of papers with only two members/paper. Registrations can be sent by filling the registration forms so as to reach the Chief Co-ordinator on or before 20-01-2012.
REGISTRATION FEE PER PERSON
Participation fees : Rs.50/- (Per Person). Fee to be sent as DD drawn in favour of Karpagam Polytechnic College payable at Coimbatore-21 or by cash in person on the day of seminar.
(No TA/DA will be provided)
Working lunch and tea will be provided and outstation participants will be given accommodation in the hostel. Proceedings will be given to all participants in the form of compact discs.
